LOCATION: New York, NY DESCRIPTION: The Business Solutions Associate provides a critical service in designing and delivering technical and process improvement solutions to the business. He/she must have an ability to communicate with both non-technical internal customers and technical development resources, translating business and process requirements into solution definitions and support applications. The associate will be called upon to develop technical solutions in-house as well as engage and manage external development resources. The position assumes strong technical acumen and is suited for a senior developer who seeks to expand his/her role into project management and business analysis. In order to succeed in this position, the candidate should have previous experience in coding and implementing application systems as well as a strong desire to engage clients and manage projects. REPORTING STRUCTURE: This role reports to the Director of Applications. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: · Work with business units to identify strategic and/or tactical opportunities, implementing technical solutions and/or non-technical alternatives. · Provide technical guidance and leadership as required by business units. · Document and drive consensus on application functionality and requirements. · Liaise with consultants and internal resources to produce and deliver applications. · Manage, prioritize, and implement enhancement requests as required · Build programs, queries, and reports as required by project specifications. · Identify and develop creative solutions to drive operational efficiency across the organization MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Expert knowledge of: o Relational Databases (SQL Server 2005/2008 preferred) o Data Modeling o Object Oriented Programming (C# preferred) o Web Development (HTML/DHTML, JavaScript, ASP, AJAX, XML, ASP.NET) Working knowledge of: o SQL Server Business Intelligence Stack (Integration Services, Reporting Services, Analysis Services) and / or IBM Cognos TM1 (OLAP) o Microsoft VBA o Master Data Management o ERP / General Ledger Systems o Kimball Data Warehouse Design o Agile Development Methodology • Strong communications skills. • Track record of effectively and efficiently managing many independent or related tasks simultaneously, with urgency to achieve on-time, within-budget project completion. • Demonstrated history of resourcefulness and detail orientation in approaching tasks. • Ability to predict project scope and report planning, progress, and completion of tasks in a timely manner. • Ability to manage end-user expectations of delivery and functionality. SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience. |
